Yes, I'm finally updating my blog. I've been MIA most of the week because those people at my paying job actually expect me to work ... the nerve ! Don't they realize that work is just a means to an end and except for the fact that I kinda need the weekly paycheck because I am not independently wealthy and I have yet to find the elusive sugar-daddy, it really just gets in the way of things ?
I did manage to ditch work for the Greenbelt race on Weds. It was good fun - large fields and short races made for some fairly fast racing. I'm finally starting to get my legs back from that whole running thing a couple weeks ago. In the words of a fellow racer upon hearing that I was suffering b/c I went running - Why'd you do that? That was stupid. Why yes, thankyouverymuch for pointing that out because I hadn't thought of it.
Anyhoo. I had recently sworn off TTs because of my dismal TT rides this year but that didn't last... I'll see you at Church Creek tomorrow. Why ? I haven't raced for two weekends in a row and I'm kinda jonesing. I'm a glutton for punishment. I figure that if I keep banging my head against the wall, eventually it'll get through. I like to go by the old cliche - that which doesn't kill you will make you stronger. Yes, I've thought this through. The start times are super late compared to prior CCTTs; thankfully it's not supposed to be 100 degrees tomorrow.
If that weren't enough for one weekend, I'll be trekking up to PA to take a ride in the Christiana crit. What a great course - its a shame the stage race didnt work out this year (reference the RedRoseRaces debacle) but its worth the trip to go up to do a real crit.
Non-bicycle related: So I'm riding my vespa home from work yesterday and hear a crashing noise behind me ... I looked back (bad first reaction when you're on a bike/motorcycle) to see my shiny new top box flying across the road. For no apparent reason. Thankfully there wasn't that much traffic so I didn't cause any real issues ... more importantly, my laptop wouldnt fit so it wasn't in there. So much for having a place to put my helmet when I get off the bike ... I have to believe it was an installation error but I'm sure the installer (a local authorized Vespa dealer) will disagree. Sigh.
Thats about all I have for this Friday - I'm tired of being a corporate slave and ready for the weekend.

Nice job at conquering the once elusive and dismal TT. Sounds like the fit and the funny saddle surely helped turn things around in addition to your great fitness.
